Accuracy of results

Every tool here is tested against a range of inputs, including awkward ones: empty values, unusual whitespace, emoji, accented characters and non-Latin scripts. Even so, software has bugs, and text processing in particular is full of edge cases where two reasonable definitions disagree — what counts as a word, where a sentence ends, how a particular character should be encoded.

Treat any output as a starting point rather than a verdict. If a result matters — if it feeds into a submission, an invoice, a legal document, a piece of code going into production, or an academic word limit — check it by another means before you rely on it. If a tool gives you an answer that looks wrong, please report it with the input that caused it.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this site constitutes legal, financial, tax, medical, security or other professional advice, and no tool here is a substitute for a qualified professional. A calculation or conversion performed by a utility page does not take your circumstances into account. If your question has real consequences, ask someone qualified to answer it.

Your data and your responsibility

Tool input is processed in your browser and is never transmitted to us, which means we never hold a copy of it. That is good for your privacy, and it has one practical consequence: nothing is recoverable. If you close the tab, the content is gone, and we cannot retrieve it. Copy out anything you need before you leave the page.

You are also responsible for deciding whether it is appropriate to put a particular piece of content into a web page at all, under whatever confidentiality, employment or data protection obligations apply to you.

Toolgin is free to use and carries third-party advertising, which is how the site is paid for. Advertisements are selected and served by advertising networks, not chosen by us individually. Their appearance here is not an endorsement, and we do not vet the advertisers, their products or their claims.
